It started in a warehouse.
My first job was picking orders in a warehouse. I was the guy studying the fastest picker's movements and improving on them, so I could do more work with less effort. Then I taught myself SQL to run the reports and prove it.
That's just how I'm wired: spot the wasted motion and turn it into time back.
